GEORGE E. DORSEY'S DUAL ORGAN TRANSPLANT
Donation protected
Hello family, friends and potential donors:
My name is George Eric Dorsey. I would like to humble myself by asking for your help. I was diagnosed with diabetes at age eight. Through the years, I have been taking care of myself through diet, exercise and insulin injections three times per day.
In 2012, I developed an ulcer on my left foot as a result after many months of treatment, my wound would not heal. My ulcer was not responding to the medical treatments. Ultimately, I have had my big toe amputated on my right foot and a cross mini-tarsal (one half of my left foot cut off).
As a result with complications of diabetes; I have also been diagnosed with Stage 5 Kidney Disease along with retina problems in my eyes, as well as blood vessels bursting periodically and Peripheral Artery Disease (PAD) poor circulation. I have G.I. (Gastroparesis) which does not allow me to pass my food in a timely basis. Along with hypertension and diabetic nephropathy, as a result of being diabetic for many years. I am now in need of a dual transplant of the kidney and pancreas.
As many of you know I currently live in Atlanta, GA., and the transplant is scheduled to be done in Washington, DC. All blood work, x-rays, MRI's and CT's have been approved, which qualifies me for the operation.
My family will be incurring many out of pocket expenses including traveling, food, co-pays, for a minimum of three months while I'm in Washington, DC.
I would like to thank you each in advance for your contributions, support and prayers.
BLESSINGS!
George
