Dual Language 8th Grade 2019 Trip

I am raising money for my 15 students entering 8th grade in September 2018.  My students are in the Dual Language immersion (instruction in Spanish and English) program in New London, CT.   Many  of the students have been in the Dual Language Program since Kindergarten and this is the first class to begin the program at the middle school.  Many of the students have never  traveled outside of CT and it is important for them to gain knowledge beyond the classroom to deepen understanding of the culture. As an end of the year trip I would like to take the students to Puerto Rico to explore the island and learn about its rich history through university classes, examine the aftermath of Hurricane Maria, tour historical and educational landmarks,  and immerse themselves  in the language and culture.   The cost per student is approximately $1550.00 and this includes all the classes, activities, lodging and food.  I am  planning this trip for June 2019 and would appreciate any donations that can help bring the cost down for my students and parents.  I am starting this page very early this school year so we have enough time to raise the desired amount.
