Hey friends and family! As many of you know, I'm currently in Paris, France, at a missions school called Frontline Discipleship Training School. It's run by the organization YWAM, and the goal is to equip people with an interest in missions by helping them confirm God's call on their life, spend intentional time deepening their relationship with Jesus, gain knowledge about Scripture, learn about different religions and evangelism/missions techniques, and get an accurate picture of what full time international missions work is.

The first part of the school is somewhat of a Bible-school format; we attend a lot of lectures discussing topics from the nature and character of God to methods of worship to world religions. Aside from class time, homework, and book reports, we have inner-city outreach, one-on-one discipleship, and corporate prayer built into our schedule. I'm also (with a lot of struggle!) trying to learn some French!

We live on 'base,' which is sort of a tiny campus in a converted warehouse, so the community is intimate and intense. The students, instructors, and base staff eat family meals together, sleep in dorm style bunk rooms, and basically do life together in every respect.

This season has been excellent so far and I'm learning a ton about just how relational God is, and how invested in even the smallest aspects of our lives.

In October, the school will switch gears completely into what is known as 'outreach phase'. Essentially, we are going to pack up and head out to a closed country where access to the Gospel is limited, and we will be on the frontlines of the Kingdom, putting everything we are currently learning into practice. We will spend three months out there not only actively serving but also continuing to learn - our instructors come with us, so the training continues (less formally of course). We won’t be in class anymore persay, but we will be critiqued, helped, and discipled in real-time as we jump into the messy daily life that is third world missionary work.

Currently, I am raising money for the outreach phase of the school. We do pay tuition and board like a regular school for the current lecture phase, but for the outreach phase, we have additional expenses like plane tickets and other transport, visa fees, and accommodation in the host country. We are all tasked with raising our own support for this - obviously, it’s a great exercise in what it looks like to be a full time missionary living off of support, but it’s also a unique way to learn to trust God and be more attentive to His calling.

I’m so, so excited to prep for and transition into that outreach, and I believe God’s calling toward this has been very clear, but I really can’t do it without a team of people behind me. Would you be willing to financially support me?

I hope you’ll prayerfully consider it.

If you have questions, would like to hear about current lecture topics and revelations, want to hear more about the school or the YWAM organization, or just want to catch up please ask! I’d also be super down to chat on the phone if you’d like - just let me know :)
