Jamie's Journey
Donation protected
My sister Jamie, age 39, was recently diagnosed with ovarian cancer -- high-grade serous adenocarcinoma. Unfortunately, this is the more aggressive type of ovarian cancer. This diagnosis came out of nowhere following a hysterectomy. The doctor simply thought the pain and bleeding that led to the hysterectomy was associated with a failed ablation. Jamie never thought her world would be turned upside down in an instant.
Since the diagnosis, she has learned what the best course of treatment will be and we are all optimistic that Jamie will beat this. The next step is to begin chemotherapy - Jamie will undergo 3 rounds of chemo, followed by surgery to remove the remaining ovary and omentum, followed by another 3 rounds of chemo. Jamie has a long- road ahead of her and needs all the positive thoughts and prayers you can give.
As with any unexpected medical diagnosis, Jamie has already begun to rack up medical bills and travel expenses. Jamie lives in Jamestown, ND and must travel to Sioux Falls, SD and to Fargo, ND to meet with her oncologist, to do her chemotherapy and to have her surgery. We are all incredibly grateful for any and all help, Jamie especially.
Jamie, I and our family would like to thank all of you for your continued support, love, and prayers. This truly means the world to Jamie.
