Carolina's Cure

Suicide is the number one killer of Lyme patients. Imagine pain so great, so constant and never ending that you would willingly end your life because it's the only way to get out of it. I used to be one of those jaded people that thought suicide was selfish. And then I got Lyme... (I won't lie, there have been times where it seems like the only option.)
The government refuses to acknowledge Chronic lyme disease therefore insurance does not pay for more than 29 days of antibiotics, which would actually make me worse...
No one should be left to suffer so much that death is their only hope.

I am afraid because I know I can't fight forever...

The fear of not knowing when or even if I will ever be in remission kicks in sometimes… because I can't afford the 8 week treatment. This is sooo very scary, but I’m determined to beat this! There are many counting on me (like the sweet lady with Dementia, the others misdiagnosed with MS and the one bed ridden and was told to just take antidepressants. They all turned out to have lyme!) and many who don’t even know it just yet either! Someday someone will see this and it’ll give them faith because they too can beat this just like I will.

 And I will help them!

My dream [PLAN] would be to run an organization and help others who have Chronic Lyme. Then go back to school (ISU) to become a Physcian Assistant so that I am eventually capable of accurately testing, treating, and diagnosing anyone with a chronic illness that walks in my clinic. Surely I couldn't let all of this knowledge go to waste.
It’s truly my passion to help others! I mean I’m even doing it while I’m sick. I promise you nothing is “Idiopathic.”

I would also work together with a friend Christina to open a facility that will provide all of the treatments necessary in one location for patients so that they don’t have to drive to multiple different locations & of course it’ll be available to anyone! I don’t want to just help Lyme patients.

 I truly want to treat the cause not the symptoms. Through my journey I am learning about so much more than just Lyme…
