Drew kicks Cancer's ass

Earlier this year, our dear friend Drew was diagnosed with Stage 3 testicular cancer. Bullshit, right? If you're reading this, that means you know how amazing Drew is. If you don't know how amazing Drew is, you're about to. 

I've known Drew for nearly 15 years. We met in college over a bamboo stick. That same year, we shared a twin bed for nearly a year (in the most platonic way possible) because walking up the hill in the middle of winter was a big ask. He shoveled my car out of the snow when I had to go to work and the plows hadn't come yet. He's come to visit every state I've ever moved to. Sometimes, he calls just to leave a voicemail that is 3 minutes long. It almost always makes me laugh cry when I listen to them.  I also know that he always has a place to stay when someone needs it. He's a fierce advocate for the arts, the LGBTQ community, and most importantly, for the people that he loves. I can say with my whole heart that he is my best friend. 

I'll get to the point, Drew shows up. He shows up when it matters the most. Now it's our turn. 

Cancer sucks. It really sucks. What sucks the most is that the treatment is almost worse than the disease and it costs way more than it should. Drew is lucky enough to have decent insurance, but insurance doesn't cover everything. His treatment plan includes some heavy chemotherapy that will interfere with his ability to work as much as he was before.

Everything you donate will be to help pay for the treatments that are needed to save his life. 


I know that Drew wasn't keen on me setting one of these up. I guess the Maine pride runs deep. No one likes asking for help in these situations, but I let him know that there are so many people out there that love him and want to help.
