DRAKES Home/Shop Fire

Donation protected
I hate doing this. I'm not sure where to start but recently my wife and I bought a property so that me and her had a place to grow old, raise our daughter and get settled after separating from active duty last year. we have fought so hard to get a home while i was self employed and this felt like our big break since starting my business. The best part was it had a massive 1800 sq/ft barn attached. we have been renovating all week to move in, painting and fixing it up so it would be perfect. after painting all day we decided to go back to the apartment with our 10y/o daughter since the fumes were a bit much. We don't know how it started, but the next morning a sheriff knocked on our apartment door informing us the house and my shop had burned to the ground. and was leveled when they showed up.

WE HAVE INSURANCE
We have good coverage. We met with the claims adjuster today which was really tough, unfortunately since the barn was not a livable space nor an outbuilding it is included in the cost to rebuild the home, which is post and beam and likely far exceed our coverage. We are going to have to compromise on my shop space considerably according to who we have talked to, even if we change the style of the home.

We only lost about 10% of our belongings, my wedding band, our cat who we think ran away, shop supplies and tools. along with our dreams. The house was a beautiful reproduction cape, built in 2002 from materials salvaged from an old barn. the barn was new construction and i had spent a lot of money investing in equipment, supplies and flooring to convert it into a usable work space.

All I can think of right now is repaying/refunding the people who I owe orders to, i still have the bulk of my equipment and FD so we are so incredibly thankful we were not fully moved in or there during the fire.
I set the goal at enough money to do that, I have no clue how these things work but hate taking money for nothing.

My perspective is this, Fires happen everyday to people without large followings. and they get pennies. I feel terrible about taking money i did not earn. We also are safe and have most of our belongings.

Any money earned will be used to REPAY orders i am mentally and physically too drained to fulfill. Help offset some of the building costs and down time. and ultimately I would buy  equipment to make more parts.

please if you don't or cant afford to help, please just hold onto your money. like i said we have good coverage that will help us build a new home. Please accept my family's deepest thanks if you choose to help.
