Douglas's Funeral Costs

Donation protected
My parents are in a situation that no parent ever wants to imagine. My brother Douglas Bigelow (Dougie Doo) has been in the hospital for about 3 weeks now, and is not in good shape. He is severly mentally and physically handicap. His story will seem unreal to anyone who doesnt know us. When he was 3 months old his father beat him and threw him across the room, his head hit a radiator and he was never the same. At the time my parents were foster parents for lackawanna county they got a call to take in a handicap baby, and they welcomed the oportunity. His father didnt want him back because of his state so my parents adopted him. The doctors told them he wouldnt make it to see 2, but he did. They then said he wont see 5, yet again they celebrated another birthday. They said he wouldnt make it to be a teen and once again he surprised everyone.  About 8 years ago we had to move due to financial issues. The house we had to move into was not big enough to move him around with all of his equiptment. It broke my mothers heart but she had to put him into St Josephs Hospital. They have taken such good care of him along the way. Hes is now 26 years old. He is currently on a respirator in the icu and has been since he went to the hospital this time. They have tried to ween him off of it twice and both time before long he is gasping for breath and it needs to be put back on. He has a DNR and they are giving him 1 last shot. As of yesterday they put the respirator back on and will keep it on for 1 week after that they are going to take it off give him something to help with any pain and let him go. He may make it 3 hours, but he may also outlive us all. Of course we are hoping for the second option but we all feel that this is it. When they adopted him they could not take out any life insurance on him because of his condition. So a Few months ago my parents planned his funeral and started to make payments on it just in case he outlived them. We thought we had more time to keep saving & they wanted to make sure it wasnt on us. I would like to do the same, at this point in my life i cant afford to help with much but my parents are such amazing people it hurts me to now see 2 of their children pass. They adopted 8 of us all different ages, races, and health conditions, and they treated us all as if they had given birth to us. Anything you could give would be more than apreciated. Thank you from the Bigelow family.
