Doug Lindstrom's Cancer Obstacle

Donation protected
Doug and Sarah give.  Have for as long as I’ve known them.  Doug gave me service and loyalty for the eighteen years he was my employee.  He gave me positivity and the best attitude I’ve ever encountered.  He and his band mates gave us all music that helps me mark the time.  He gave me opportunity as he birthed his company and gives his all to nurture it to maturity.  He gave me friendship and loyalty.  His beautiful wife Sarah has also given me friendship, of a very unique kind.  She’s given me haircuts, and confidentiality regarding my increasing grey.  She’s given support to her friends and would give you her last dollar if you asked.  She’s given her husband love and devotion and care from the day they met.  Together they are one of the most unique and unassuming couples I’ve ever known.  I’ve never felt like I’ve given them enough, and I’m hoping that all of us who know them or who maybe don’t but can relate to their current obstacle can help out by giving a little to make enough.  Never ever would they ask, even in their time of need.  So I’m asking.

In January, Doug was diagnosed with esophageal cancer.  This came at a time when he was in the best shape of his life and was lucky enough to have a partner like Sarah to support him and love him through this process.  He’s insured and has doctors that are offering a plan for his treatment.  What he doesn’t have is the energy to work.  Sarah’s in great shape, but her ability to work has been cut by the tending to her husband.  Not for lack of trying, she’s simply not able to keep the ship afloat much longer.  I know that this is a scenario that is all too common these days.  But this one involves my friends.  Friends who have always given themselves to me.

My friends need help.  They’d be your friends too if you knew them.  And if you already do, then you know.  For even further evidence of this, please come to 21st Ave Bar & Grill on Saturday, June 3rd (721 NW 21st Ave, Portland, OR) for a musical fund raiser that will include many who know all this about Doug and Sarah and want to help way more than they actually can.

Along with Sarah, Doug can beat this.  He’s young enough, and strong enough, and has all the good karma in the world on his side.  Please, let’s dig some up right now and deliver it to them in this scary time of uncertainty.  I can think of few who deserve it more.

We love you, guys.  Stay strong.  Help is coming.
