DOUBLE DONATION DOLLARS! Renovation: Phase One

Mid Hudson Animal Aid is embarking on Phase One of a vital building update that will improve the health and well being of all in the shelter. Our structure is almost thirty years old and several spaces are in dire need of renovation. The infrastructure has become tentative in our laundry, bathroom, and utility closet areas, and needs to be gutted and rebuilt due to wear and tear and spatial issues. The plumbing, flooring and tub areas need to be updated with materials that are more water resistant, durable, cost efficient and easy to sanitize. A proper tub and storage for our cleaning supplies and clean laundry storage will ensure our staff can effectively sterilize the environment to keep disease from spreading to the cats.

These changes are a direct result of research, recommendations from veterinarians and the Merck Co., and will improve the day to day life in the shelter and cut costs. Your response to our financial crisis last year allowed us to get back on our feet and remain open. As we move ahead, we must find funding to ensure a safe and healthy space for all and establish future sustainability.
