Rabson-Mendhall Syndrome Treatment

Donation protected

Hello!  My name is Elkin Jair Limon Lerma, I was born in Colombia but currently I live in the city of San Francisco, CA, USA.

Through an informative news program in Colombia, I learned the story of Dayanna, who suffers from Rabson-Mendhall syndrom which is characterized by severe insulin resistance caused by a gene mutation. To treat this disease she and her mother must visit the NATIONAL INSTITUTE OF DIABETES AND DIGESTIVE AND KIDNEY DIASEASES in Washington DC every 6 months.

In order to comply with the treatment, the institute provides medical intervention and accommodation for Dayanna and her family, but they must pay the costs of travel and meals.

The Dayanna family is unable to afford these expenses, because they are a low-income family located in Barrancabermeja, Colombia.

Help is needed in the form of funds to ensure that this family is able to travel to Washington in order to receive this potentially life saving treatment and to receive adequate meals while they stay there.

The first round of treatment is from 4/14/19-4/19/19 so funds are needed quite quickly to help this family.
