Donna's Baby Fund

Dear Acorn Parents past and present:
As many of you may know, Donna, one of the wonderful teachers at the Acorn has been diagnosed with breast cancer. For those of you lucky enough to know Donna she has been more than a teacher for over 15 years; she has babysat for some of us, accompanied a few on family holidays but above all, she is the one that has nurtured our children in a way that has made them feel secure and confident in their learning and development. Each child she has cared for has blossomed in ways that have made us, as parents, notice her magic and this is partly because Donna treats each child as if they were her own.
In spite of the challenges that Donna has to face in the coming months, foremost in her mind is her wish for a baby. Given her age and the treatment needed for the cancer, she will have to have several procedures to enable this to become a reality for her. Unfortunately the NHS will not be able to fully support the necessary fertility treatment. It is to this end that we have decided to set up a Go Fund Donna donation site for anyone who would like to support Donna in having a baby. She has given us so much, this is the time to give back to her and help her to become a mother.
Every donation received will go to Donna, regardless of achieving the financial target. Some Acorn parents have already generously given to an informal funding appeal for Donna.
While this funding appeal is being sent to many present and recent Acorn families, we don't have email addresses of past families to share this appeal with. Please forward far and wide to anyone from previous Acorn years that might want to join us as we may have missed some people out.
