To those who knew my mom, knew that she loved her kids and helping others ferociously.  She went above and beyond for my sisters and myself whenever she could.  She was the mama bear to the core.

Her love didn’t end with us.  She loved her friends that became family and held the relationships with everyone close to her.  She remembered everyone’s names, important dates, and extended family.  Honestly, she remembered more about other people’s families than most people remembered about their own.

To say she was one of a kind, would be a severe understatement.  She went out of her way to help friends, family and kids on her caseload from work while with the County of Orange where she worked as a social worker for 35 years.  She made an impact on lives of thousands before retiring to be at home with her two girls and began homeschooling them.

Her final days were not easy.  She had a brain surgery in June, then suffered a massive stroke 6 weeks after.  In the 3 months following, she was determined to make a full recovery.  She was well on her way to doing so.  She had to relearn how to stand on her own, walk and do basic daily tasks. She was close to achieving her goal, until October 29th.  That day she was called home to heaven to be with our lost friends and family and our Savior.  She held her faith extremely close to her heart.  Often praying and asking for God’s guidance and healing power.

She attended Trinity Episcopal Church in Orange for over 50 years.  She loved her church family and was an intricate part of it.

She is survived by her 3 kids: Grant, Emily, and Delany.  Brother:Jimmy,  Nephews: Nicholas and TJ, her dear Auntie Joan in Canada and the rest of her Mothers side of the family in Canada, which she loved so much.

As she hated to ask for help, we also hate asking for help.  However, we are asking for funds to help with the expenses of her arrangements. This includes the funeral costs, unforeseen bills, assistance with the transition for Emily and Delaney moving forward and the costs for the house. Anything would be greatly appreciated. Christine (my fiancé) is going to organize and delegate this with me.

Thank you,
