For the Love of Momma Sue

Donation protected

Early this spring, our beloved mother Sue was experiencing signs of what we believed to be a hiatal hernia. She was having difficulty swallowing and had severe pain in her chest and stomach. So when we brought her to get an endoscopy in late March, we imagined surgery, some rehabilitation and then she would be back to her daily life. But when we picked her up from the hospital, she informed us that they had found a large malignant mass in her esophagus.

A week later she was diagnosed with Stage IV esophageal cancer.
Within days she began chemotherapy and within weeks had to have a feeding tube put in because she could no longer swallow any solid or liquid food, as doctors were concerned of aspiration. She would continue to be in and out of the hospital numerous times within the first month of her diagnosis.

Due to the severity of the prognosis, Sue has been unable to continue her business of 15 years as a property manager. Although she worked ardently, it has been a struggle to keep financial security. What she was able to put into savings, has now all been depleted since her diagnosis.  And with a long road ahead of her, we are asking for your help to make sure that her only job is to rest and fight this cancer without the stress of how to pay for her living expenses. These funds will help her pay for rent, gas to get her to and from appointments in Bennington and Dartmouth, specific food for her feeding tube, care for her dog Ruby, as well as any other alternative treatments we can provide.

This woman is the embodiment of courage, kindness, creativity and grace. She not only raised and supported her four boys with these strengths, but encourages this passion and love with everyone she comes in contact with.

These have been some of the most trying months of her life. We ask for your help so that she may find some peace in these days of pain. With no known end to this fight, our goal is to give Sue financial security until she reaches remission. Any amount of donation will be greatly appreciated by Sue and the family. She is and will be incredibly grateful for your support.

We love you forever and always Momma Sue.
