Balunu Foundation is a small Northern Territory based not-for-profit that provides healing programs for at-risk Indigenous young people.
I will be flying to Darwin next month to spend time with and learn from this vital organisation.
Remember, all donations are tax deductable!
Young Indigenous in the Northern Territory have the highest suicide rate in Australia. Balunu Foundation’s Healing Program takes young people who are at risk of suicide on a culturally appropriate camp program to support them to re-connect and heal. The Healing Program was evaluated by the NT Government and shown to be successful in supporting youth at risk of suicide – however the government has cut funding substantially. The youth the Balunu Foundation work with on this program are those really at risk – dropped out of school, been in and out of detention, really serious issues in their lives.
We have committed to fund a healing program where Balunu would take up to 10 young people on the Healing Camp.
With your fundraising support, the camp would be the Balunu Foundation Healing Program funded by Optus.
Our target is $5,000.
Please help me raise money for them so they can continue to put on music programs, healing programs, and support their community through their amazing work.
