Welcome to Thrust Vector!
We are an F1 in schools’ team from Blue Mountains Grammar School. Our team Thrust Vector are the National champions (as was recently reported on sky news (Jones+Co) https://www.skynews.com.au/details/_6015563318001) and we are heading to the International Finals in Abu Dhabi later this year.
The F1 in Schools STEM Challenge™ is one of the largest STEM competitions in the world. As we have progressed in the competition we are being pushed onto the international stage. More than 17,000 schools and 44 countries are part of this competition to make the fastest miniature F1 Car.
One huge part of the competition is the skills that we learn. We not only learn about STEM (science, technology, engineering and maths) but we also learn many life skills such as interpersonal skills, time management, finance management and communication.
The challenge is treated like a real F1 competition so it focuses on all aspects of STEM. We create cars, branding, portfolios, pit displays, marketing items, team jerseys, presentations as well as having to organise flights and accommodation in Abu Dhabi for the week. We are looking for any financial support to assist us in getting there.
Here is a little more about us:
Our team is made up of 5 members, Mirah Larkin - Team manager, Nick Hayes - Design engineer, Zach Burgess - Marketing Manager, Fin Hastie - Manufacturing engineer and Matt Foster - Graphic Designer. We are looking to learn more about all the STEM subjects as well as to progress as far as possible in the competition.
We are all high achieving students that apply ourselves and we believe that we can go all the way in this competition. Your financial support will assist us in progressing and achieving our goals.
