“On October 20th, I was in the worst accident of my life. On my way home I crashed on my motorcycle. My wife Jenn was following behind me in her car and got me help immediately. I broke my right hip, broke a rib, lacerated my spleen, chest trauma and broke C5-C6 vertebra which has left me paralyzed from the chest down and in my hands. I’ve had multiple surgeries and procedures, one of them leaving a scar down my entire stomach in order to wash out an intense infection. I had a heart attack and had to be resuscitated, which left burns marks on my chest. My lungs had to be drained multiple times & I’ve been breathing on a ventilator. It hasn’t been easy for me, I have a lot of depression.. but today was a big milestone for me. I told my doctor it tingles when I focus on trying to move a body part, so he asked me to try to pinch my knees together. I may not have fully pinched them together but to my own surprise there was INTENTIONAL movement that I controlled. It wasn’t a reflex.” -Ian.....

Ian was in a coma for two weeks and woke up in California with no recollection of what happened. One minute he was driving home in Mexico and the next minute he’s in CA being told all of the above news about his body.
Ian is determined to walk again. There is no doubt in his mind. Until he can work again, this GoFundMe is and will continue to help us get through day to day needs but most of all give Ian what he needs to have a FULL RECOVERY. We abruptly and hastily flew back to California when the accident happened (living in Mexico at the time) so we left everything behind. We were able to get valuables and clothes but that’s it. We’re so grateful to have such an amazing community to help Ian get back on his feet, literally. Our world has been turned upside down and we just want to find a new normal again.
