My sister Sauli (Sal) is 33 years old and is in need of a double lung transplant.
After many months of feeling unwell, and a misdiagnosis of asthma, Sal was diagnosed with Pulmonary Hypertension, a chronic rare progressive disease that affects the arteries in the lungs and heart. She started treatment right away and we had hoped that she was going to be stable. Unfortunately, Sal has had a lot of complications with the treatment, has been admitted to the hospital multiple times and almost passed away this January. Her team of doctors gave us the news that due to the fast progression of her disease, her only option to survive is to undergo a double lung transplant.
Sal is single mother of four. Her sole source of income is her job that she can only work part time due to her health restrictions. She struggles everyday to live a normal life for her children. She fights to stay her healthiest and not end up back in the hospital.
She has the support of our family. I started this Go Fund me page to help with the medical cost and care she will need following her transplant.
Sal fights everyday to live for her children and to return to the mom, daughter, cousin, and sister we remember. Her children need her and we hope that you find it in your heart to donate. Anything is appreciated and no donation is too small.
