Donate a Portrait - Build a school with your face!
Donation protected
Hi everyone!
I am fundraising to complete the construction of a brand new school in rural Cambodia AND for all those who give a little to us, I will give something back to YOU!
Donate a Portrait - I will draw a simple portrait for you (of you or anyone you like!) with your donation of at least £5, and it will look something like this:
All you need to do is send me photo of yourself/ someone you want me to draw along with your donation and I will give you the digital copy of my artwork within a week! It can be a nice, simple gift for your friends & family, or even just for yourself!
IMPORTANT NOTE: Please contact me first through Instagram (@h.harts) or via email: [email redacted] so that I can ensure the quality of the photo you are providing is good enough for me to draw. I will do my best to work with whatever you have.
ABOUT OUR PROJECT
We are 30% away from completing the construction of a brand new school and HDLF's third learning centre in rural Cambodia. A team of local and international volunteers is on the ground as we speak, working in 40 degrees heat to complete the school before the rainy season.
We desperately need your help raising the last £6,000 to buy materials, finish the build and finally open the school!
PROGRESS SO FAR
The money raised until now has been used for the following work:
1. Foundations, Pillars & Beams (Complete)
2. Bricklaying (Complete)
3. Brick wall around the school (Complete)
4. Student toilets (Complete)
5. Walkway (Complete)
6. Ceiling (In Process)
7. Murals & Artwork (In Process)
7. Tools (Purchased)
8. Food for Volunteers (On-going)
This video shows some of the progress and our volunteers in action!
CLASSROOMS (Ceiling in process)
OUTER BRICK WALL
STUDENT TOILETS (My murals in process!)
COMPLETED MURALS
STILL NEEDED
To complete the school we need to raise a final £6,000 for:
1. Plastering and priming classrooms
2. Painting classrooms
3. Laying tiles for the floor
4. Windows & Doors
5. Installing Electrics & Ceiling Fans
6. Whiteboards, Tables & Chairs
IMPACT OF YOUR DONATION
Most of the students in this village are from extremely poor families and typically drop-out of secondary education to work on the farm or in a factory for slave wages.
By attending this school around 250 students per year will have access to:
1. English Classes
2. Mentoring, Motivation & Life Skills
3. Teacher Training
4. University Scholarships (university of their choice)
5. Job Matching (tourism sector, education sector) - Click here to watch video!
6. Career Support
The last school that we built in 2017 has done so well that it's already at full capacity and there is even a waiting list of students. Here is a video and some photos of that school to give you an idea of what we are planning to replicate.
With your help we can complete the school and make this dream a reality!
Thank you for reading and please consider making a donation of any size. For those struggling to make a donation we'd still really appreciate if you could help by sharing our page with any friends or family who can.
Much love and blessings to you,
The HDLF Team
