Hello and salutations, I am Donald Smith Jr. a 4th year Doctor of Pharmacy Candidate from Florida A&M University (FAMU) College of Pharmacy and Pharmaceutical Sciences and I am in need of assistance.
In the last year of my pharmacy program, I have to complete 9 months of clinical rotations before I graduate in May of 2018. For one of the rotations I was accpeted by UIW FEIK's School of Pharmacy International Pharmacy industry rotation for late August. This is special because prior to me, the university has never accepted an outside student into their international rotation. Also on another note I will be the first FAMU Pharmacy student in over 20 years, if not more, to particiapte in an international rotaion.
My aspiration after pharmacy school are to be accepted into a pharmacy industry fellowship in the realm of pharmaeconomics or commercial/marketing. I believe that this international experience will be crucial to secure my future dream position. I am prepared to not only do well but excell above any standard that is expected of me once I am there.
Because this rotation is done through another university, to participate I have to register as a student and pay the tuition for the rotational experience. The cost of the tution is $3,500. The flight to Brazil is an average of $800, with the price fluctuating each day. Also an international health insurnace fee of $100 is also required. Which puts my total as $4,400.
I am proud to say that even till this day, FAMU Rattlers are breaking boundaries and reaching milestones despite any obstacles along the way.
I will like to thank everyone in advance for any and all contributrions to make this dream come true. In particular Dr. Michael Thompson, Dr. Charles Weaver, Dr. Yussif Dokurugu, Dr. Marcos Oliveira, Dr. Nathaniel Eraikhuemen, Dr. Dwayne Simmons and Dr. Jamal Brown and the Brothers of the Delta Iota Chapter of Kappa Psi Pharmaceutical Fraternity, Inc. for their assitance, guidance and contributions.
