Dollarhide Farm Flood Fund

Donation protected
Approximately two years ago, I first encountered the Dollarhide family farm. I had just started dating Tim and I went to his house for the first time. When he mentioned to me that the majority of his family lived in the houses across the way, I nervously laughed out loud, because clearly this must be some sort of joke. But then he also laughed and said, "No...I'm actually serious." At that moment, I wondered - "What have I gotten myself into?"

The answer to that question is this- the most amazing family.

Over the past week, Missouri experienced historic flooding that has done huge amounts of damage to homes and properties throughout the area. The Dollarhide Farm is among them.

Who I Am -Tim Dollarhide's fiance (as of a week before the flood-yay!!)

What Is The Damage -

Tim's Home -

Was completely swept off of its foundation and is displaced among some nearby trees. Although a tree house would be pretty awesome, now is not the right time. The inside will require extensive renovation as well.

The Family Home aka "The Big House"-

The entire first floor was flooded, in addition to the basement and garage. All of the kitchen appliances, living room furniture, piano, and many other furnishings were completely destroyed. At least half of the flooring will likely require replacement.

The Wilkins' Home - Ashley and Jason (and their two young children) have essentially lost everything. Their house will require complete gutting and rehabilitation , as well as literally every piece of furniture, dish, or appliance you and I use on a daily basis.

The Barns - All four barns experienced damage, as well as the machinery used to keep the farm going (tractors, etc) were ruined.

Aberdeen Golf Club - The club house sustained substantial damage, in addition to every piece of machinery and equipment used to maintain the course, despite being out of the official flood plane. It also will require complete rehabilitation. This was Rocky's dream, built from the ground up.

Although the homes all have flood insurance, insurance caps coverage at $25K. When considering the amount of damage done and all affecting the same family, this will barely cover the tip of expenses. The Aberdeen Club House does not have flood insurance coverage.

Why I'm Doing This - If you know the Dollarhide family well, you know that they go out of their way to help people both locally and overseas. Their sense of family is inspiring and only rivaled by their faith in God. Although this has all been obviously difficult, I have heard nothing but positive encouragement between them to each other, prayer without ceasing, and thanking God for the abundance of blessings they have been given.

This family already knows they have been blessed beyond measure. My goal is to show them they are surrounded by the same amount of love, generosity, and help as they provide to others.

Any amount will help. If you can give $5, give $5. If you can give $10, give $10. It is all equally appreciated.

If you are unable to donate, you may volunteer to help the clean up efforts or for the volunteer team to begin immediate construction of The Dollarhide Ark, in preparation for the next flood. I think Rocky would make a pretty good Noah, don't you?

Thank you in advance for your support!
