Doing the Danube

Donation protected

Hey - thanks for checking this page out! I'm aiming to kayak the entire (navigable) length of the River Danube this summer, Europes second longest river, to bring the world to life in classrooms all around the globe and I need your help.

As a brief introduction I am, for lack of a better job title, a 'professional explorer'. In other words, I travel to the most awesome places on Earth, do some really cool stuff when I get there and I meet the most amazing people along the way.

All of my experiences, in fact everything that I do, is geared towards education audiences around the world. My aim is to, quite literally, 'bring the world in to classrooms' and make education happen.

Using various technology platforms and lots of hard work I directly engage with thousands of school children every month from all over the world, helping teachers to 'make education meaningful' whilst giving children the opportunity to see what they want to see and ask the questions that they want to ask.

I'm also an advocate for universal education provision - giving every child, everywhere, the opportunity to receive a quality education. I work with several international charities and NGO's (for free - all of my education work is entirely philanthropic!) to not only raise awareness of the issues in education provision, but also to educate, inspire, motivate and empower young people to make a difference by giving other young people the chance to receive an education..

In September of 2016 I launched an intiative called 'Teach The World' to help make it happen.

This summer I'm aiming to paddle the entire length of Europes second longest river, the Danube. Starting in mid-August I'll be creating re-usable resources for schools such as images, videos, lesson ideas and loads more and, whenever I can, I'll actually be engaging live with schools all over the world using various technology platforms.

The funds that I'm aiming to raise will not only help me to stage the adventure without starving myself in the process (remembering that my work in education doesn't earn me a salary) , but also to pay for the costs of creating resources and interacting with schools. In other words, making the experience as awesome as possible for children everywhere!

I've started adding a few incentives to encourage people, you, to help me to make this happen. The 'target' that I've set is actualy quite low, but let's try to smash it! Any funds raised over and above the base costs of the adventure will be donated to the education charity 'Education For Everyone' to invest in education projects everywhere, from the UK to... anywhere!

Some of the rewards are geared towards company involvement and some for, well - anyone! If you have any other ideas for 'rewards' then please do get in touch and let me know.

Please, join me and let's bring the world to life for children everywhere, and give every child a chance to receive an education.

Thanks LOADS!
