A Companion Dog For Robbie
Donation protected
A New Dog for Robbie.
Robbie Brothers is a 20 year old with severe autism. He began suffering seizures when just days old that have left him non-verbal and unable to communicate, except with hand gestures and some signing. His world opened up 8 years ago when his companion dog, Telly, came into his life. Telly was his constant companion and helper, his voice when he needed to leave a room or a situation that was getting too stressful. Telly developed cancer and passed away last week, leaving a grieving family and a boy without his tie to the outside world. Mike, Karen and Kelly Brothers are well known in the Dublin community for their involvement and advocacy of those with autism.
Funds raised from this campaign will go to training a new dog for Robbie. This is a loving and wonderful family who live life to the fullest, despite autism's grip. A dog means a measure of independence for a deserving young man.
