Abandoned dog that needs help

Found this dog on the side of the road and looks like he has been left alone since Hurricane Florence came.  A neighbor approached me with a metal stick in her hand telling me the dog has been coming around for weeks. I could tell she has beat him before because he was shaking and wanted to run away when he heard her voice. He is very injured (walking crooked like his hip is broken) and has a severe rash all over his body that needs immediate attention. I am taking him to the vet and really can use all the help I can get to cover the bills. The goal is just an estimate given his conditions.  Even the littlest is amount is going to help! It breaks my heart to see the condition he is in right now. I am hoping to find him a good home, but getting him to the vet is my first priority.


UPDATE: I took him to the vet and he is heart worm positive, has pre-stages of mange, covered in flea bites, and has been starved for quite some time. He also said he is very sore from being beat. I will be giving him medicine to clean out his liver so I can start the heart worm medicine. I got in contact with the owner and she surrendered him. As of now I will be taking him in until he is feeling better.
