Dog Injured in Hit and Run

$3,090 of $5,000 goal

Raised by 90 people in 2 months
On Wednesday, May 8 I witnessed a stray dog get hit by a car on Highway 55 in Cary.  The car that hit him did not stop and there was a ton of rush hour traffic.   I carefully stopped traffic and gently moved the bleeding pup to the grass  where another woman stopped to help.  We weren’t sure he was going to make it based on his condition but by some miracle her husband is a veterinarian and came to take the pup to the hospital.  We barely thought he would make it through the night but he’s a fighter and survived.   This sweet pup was left with trauma to the head, a broken jaw and bruised lungs.  He is currently receiving medical care and will need surgery to fix his jaw.   Please consider donating to help cover his medical bills...any amount will help ensure that this pup will receive the necessary care to recover from his life threatening injuries and the opportunity to live a happy and healthy life!  We will also be looking for a foster or rescue to take this sweet boy in while he recovers and eventually help him find a loving forever home. ♥️

The pup is being cared for at Noah’s Ark Veterinary Hospital in Cary.

Hi all! JJ is continuing to make progress in his recovery and we are beyond grateful for the support and care he has received so far! I visited JJ on Monday and he was as happy as could be! He was trotting around, wagging his tail and even gave me some kisses and let me hold him for a bit! I received an update from Dr. Evan last night that JJ was able to have surgery yesterday and that everything went well. JJ had some cracked teeth that needed to be extracted and his fractured jaw will need some more time to heal. JJ will need to continue his recovery for about two more weeks. I will continue to post updates as I receive them. Please continue to share this post. Any support is greatly appreciated! Although we have made progress, we are still $2,000 away from our goal. Please consider donating and SHARE SHARE SHARE this link so we will be able to fully fund JJ’s recovery. Again thank you so much for your support ♥️

Injured puppy update:

On Friday evening I got to see Dr. Evan Rosenoff and this little man. He is definitely a fighter! In the past few days the staff have given him a name “JJ” and have taken amazing care of him. They have determined that “JJ” is most likely a beagle/jack russell mix, about 3 years old and weighing 10 pounds.

While JJ is doing well considering the condition he was in, he has a long road to recovery. As of right now I was told he has a broken jaw that will require surgery to fix, cracked teeth that will need to be removed, bruised lungs and head trauma that will take time to heal. There are still many more tests to be done but this is what is known for now. He can eat on his own and is being given medication to keep him comfortable.

JJ will need time to stabilize before a decision is made about details of his surgery and post-surgery recovery. His stay at the veterinary hospital is only beginning as well as the costs associated with his care.

If you are able please consider donating to these mounting bills. Any little bit will help! The support that I have seen in the past few days has been incredible. It is amazing to see how many people have been so willing to help this sweet boy.

Lastly, it is too soon to consider foster or adoption options but when the time comes it will be through Noah’s Ark Veterinary Hospital. At this time please only reach out to Noah’s Ark if you have information about a possible owner or would like to make a donation directly to the hospital. I will continue to post updates as I receive them to allow Noah’s Ark to continue to focus their attention on treating JJ.

Huge thanks to EVERYONE who has reached out and shown incredible support for this little guy. Please continue to share these posts so we can continue making progress towards funding JJ’s recovery. I will post more updates soon. ♥️
