Dodge to World Championships

Don protégé
When many people said they couldn't, these two proved that they could.

Dodge, aka Indian Outlaw, was a wild mustang captured from an indian reservation in South Dakota when he was a 10 year old stallion. When he met his now owner, trainer, and rider Brooke Domino, he was at deaths door. He was infested with parasites and in bad health which the veterinarians told her he had a 50/50 chance of surviving. The now gelding was tough and mean, he would go out of his way to hurt others and only cared about himself and the other horses around him, but he was a fighter and it was this event that helped bring these two together. Over the course of a year Dodge made a rebound, months of hard work, medication, and perserverance they began to form a bond nothing could ever break.

Dodge when Brooke first got himDodge now
Brooke was called crazy when she fell in love and bought this rowdy mustang. He was considered dangerous, very green broke. Those who had captured him broke him in a harsh way leaving him scared both mentally and physically leading to his mistrust of people. However she won him over and began to pursue her dream of turning him into a barrel horse. Again many said she was crazy; that mustangs don't win barrel races. Slowly she began to  shape him into an amazing barrel horse and all around horse. Not only does he do the barrels but also jumping, trail riding, bareback and bridless, mounted archery, and much more.

In 2015, after a few years of competing in rodeos, they decided to pursue their dreams of competing in NBHA. However Dodge was then injured by another horse during one of their rides making them miss the season. Months of rest and rehab he came back in full swing as they focused on his conditioning and getting him back in shape.

This past year Brooke set a goal to qualify for NBHA World Championships with this once wild and unruly mustang. The season proved tough for them but they never gave up and worked as hard as they could; every race their runs became better and times got faster. Now their dreams have become a reality; qualified in 3 divisions they now set their eyes to going to World Championships in Perry, Georgia in 2017.
These two have overcome many obstacles and have become role models for many in their area and to those who know her. She has proven to many that it doesn't matter the breeding of your horse or the price tag, but it's hard work and determination that will bring you far. They have also been a role model for mustangs everywhere, proving that these horses deserve fair chances at life and can be much more. Dodge is one of the few mustangs to compete at a competitive level in NBHA especially on the east  coast.
They are currently looking for sponsors for the final leg of their journey and funds raised here will help with Dodge's expenses to go to worlds October of 2017 in Perry, Georgia. They will help cover his shipping fees as well as funds for extra shavings, feed, supplements, hay, etc. Any money that is raised and not used will be donated to the Wild Horse Rescue Center to help give mustangs like him forever homes.

Any amount of donation will help send these two to Worlds and anyone who knows Brooke knows how much of a hardworking, thankful, and appreciative person she is. This season has brought many tears of happiness to her and it would mean the world to have the support of others to help them in this final push to worlds.
