A Doctor Says Quack?

Donation protected
Jammin Plannet [sic] and the United Intentions Foundation are pleased to present “Doctors who Rock” awards night, celebrating such luminaries as Del Bigtree, Dr Mercola, and ‘Dr’ Wakefield, who is better (and legally) known as Mr Wakefield. We assume the invitations to medical professionals that actively try and help people were lost in the post, so we are asking you to help us send Dr. Chad Hayes down to Florida for the occasion. With your support, Chad will attend the conference (“Conquering Chronic Diseases”) and the Gala dinner. (With a lot of support, we can get him a VIP ticket… you know, so he could rub shoulders with the movers and shakers of the pro-disease lobby.)

Chad will enjoy talks from a wide range of ‘leading’ alternative medicine practitioners, such as:

Joseph Mercola, DO – POWER UP! How to Improve Your Mitochondrial Function with Diet & Light to Prevent and Treat Disease

Jerry Tennant, MD – Your Body Is Electric & Healing Is Voltage

Steve Sinatra, MD – High Vibrational Diet: A Simple Segway to High Vibrational Living

Lee Cowden, MD – Autism, Vaccine Injury and the Growing Epidemic

Further, Chad will have the pleasure of a high vibrational meal (whatever that means) and the chance to meet the drummer for the musical artist Pink (because, why not).

More info about the conference and gala can be found here: https://acimevents.com/

Chad is under strict instructions to be polite (within reason!) and not disrupt the event in any shape or form, and to only engage people respectfully and kindly. In short, he’s not gonna be a dick to people. He is already lined up to talk about his experience on The League of Nerds Podcast and The Science Enthusiast Podcast. If we exceed the cost of VIP tickets and Chad's travel/hotel costs all remaining funds will be donated to a deserving charity, Voices for Vaccines - a parent-led organization that supports and advocates for on-time vaccination and the reduction of vaccine-preventable disease.

And now, a little about Chad:

Chad Hayes, MD, FAAP is a pediatrician in South Carolina who takes a skeptical, science-based approach to medicine. His general approach to pediatrics is to prevent illness whenever possible, while avoiding over-diagnosing and over-treating self-limited conditions. He is passionate about science communication and helping parents make well-informed decisions about their children’s health. His writing has been published in the Washington Post and Newsweek.

You can find his blog, “Demystifying Pediatrics” at http://chadhayesmd.com. Chad can be found on Twitter @chadhayesmd, and on Facebook at http://fb.com/chadhayesmd.

If you can't donate to the fund, we encourage you to share this campaign with people who you think would appreciate what we’re doing here. Chad is taking time out of his life to go, and will not personally financially benefit from any of the donated funds; in fact he offered to cover some of the cost if we don't reach the goal. This endeavor is being done in the great spirit of skepticism and engaging with people.

For your reference, here's a breakdown of the costs associated with Chad’s trip:
Conference registration: $140
Gala ticket: $350
Travel: $150 (driving)
Hotel stay: $160
Lunch/dinner and coffee budget: $100
Booking fees: ~$50
Total: $950

If we get at least $1200 we will upgrade Chad to a super swanky VIP gala ticket.

All money above $1200 will be donated to charity.

Best,

James, Natalie, & Chad!
