Lifesaving surgery for Doctor G!

On Friday afternoon, someone in our very close neighborhood shot Doctor Girlfriend with a pellet gun. The pellet entered her right side and came to a rest near her left lung. Although the pellet missed her heart and major arteries, it pierced both of her lungs and her windpipe. The injuries have caused her entire body to fill up with air and collapsed both lungs, a condition known as pneumothorax. Basically, our cat is a balloon.
Doctor G spent Saturday night in the ICU at the emergency animal hospital on North Nevada, and will be there tonight as well. She is on two chest tubes that continuously pump air out of her chest cavity, but unless she has a surgery to repair her torn windpipe, she will die. The only thing standing in the way between life and death is the cost of this surgery.
The two nights in the ICU have costed us $2900.00. We received an emergency line of credit to cover $2600 of that, but we are now out of money and have no immediate option to pay for the surgery that must take place tomorrow or Tuesday.
Our cat is a very loved member of our family. If she were a human, there would be no question of "would you rather pay $5000 to save this person's life or let them die?" I would gladly go into a lifetime of debt to save my child's life, or, indeed, any one of yours. I feel the same way about our cat.

Please know that an air gun is not a toy. We are hoping that whoever shot our cat was just trying to scare her out of their yard and didn't know that the pellets can penetrate the skin and cause serious damage to internal organs.
