Elijah's Service Dog
My name is Miranda, I am Elijah's mother. My son is 9 years old and in the 3rd grade. Elijah was diagnosed with Autism when he was 18 months old. Since the day my son was born it has been me and him against the world. He is my life, my world, my reason to live , my smile, my everything. Over the years he has also been diagnosed ADHD and non verbal as well. He can say a few words and also can do sign language to communicate. He is currently receiving Speech and Occupational Therapy. It has been suggested that my son would benefit from a service dog, that this could help improve his speeech and his anxiety of being in public as well as other daily routine things. I have been a single mother since I've had my son working 2 jobs off and on to make ends meet. With that said I have not always been able to give my son everything he wants, but I've always given him what he needs. I believe this service dog qualifies as a need, and I am unable to do this alone. I found a company Sit Means Sit out of Belton that comes to Waco a couple of times a week. You can look them up or call and see that the money I am raising is strictly just to pay them nothing more nothing less. I bought him a dog last year on his birthday and he is now of age to begin training. Anything you can contribute no matter how small will make all difference.
