Dmitri Rincones Jr Funds

On January 27th a truck hit my 5 year old son, Dmitri (Royce) Rincones Jr., and left the scene. Royce had been at the park and was crossing the street to go back to his grandma's. The speeding truck hit him so hard that he was thrown in the air. We can’t understand how the driver could be so insensitive that he would not stop and help my son, and instead left the scene. The Dodge City police department is working to find the driver who hit Royce. He wasn’t moving and was seemingly left for dead. Thankfully the ambulance arrived in time and saved his life. He was then life-flighted to Wichita, where we learned he had a broken femur, a shattered pelvis and several abrasions all over his body and knots on his head. He had surgery at Wesley Medical Center in Wichita on Sunday, January 28th, and struggled through therapy in the days following. Royce continues to be in a lot of pain and is scared to move. He will have to learn to use a wheelchair as we wait for the doctor to give us the okay to continue therapy as he learns how to walk again. Royce now sleeps with a wedge between his legs. I will be assisting him with a lot of his ADL’s and will need to be off work to be by my son's side during this recovery time. We have a long road ahead of us and are taking it day by day. We finally came home and now we are learning to adjust and attempting to make him comfortable. We are asking for donations for medical bills, the cost of life-flight, and continued therapy. Any amount will help. We love our son so much. God is good and we are so blessed to have him by our side. We are thankful for our friends, family and community and their continued support.
