Dixie medical expenses

Dixie was adopted from a senior dog rescue group 2 years ago by a lovely gentleman. Dixie was diagnosed with heart disease at that time. Her guardian has been dedicating a lot of time and finances to manage Dixie since her adoption for her heart condition. Unfortunately, now Dixie is starting to have kidney problems and her dad, who is on social security, desperately needs help to continue her treatment.

We started the fund to help with overwhelming cost of medical care for Dixie. The money from the fund will be used directly to the animal hospital to cover the treatment related costs including hospitalization, IV fluids, medications and bloodwork rechecks. The hospital has been giving as many discounts as possible, but they can only do so much.

We know how strong the bond between Dixie and her guardian is and we would love to see this wonderful companionship to last.

UPDATE: Dixie now requires daily subcutaneous injections of fluid, prescription dog food, and new medications, in addition to the ones she has already been on.
