The Speed Project is a special inviation only event and we've been lucky enough to be chosen. Yes, District Triathlon is crazy enough to happily sign-up and take on the challenge. We welcome the FUN and the SUFFERING!

The Speed Project 1.0 was first held on March, 2013 and was meant to answer one question: How fast can you run from  Point A to Point B?

Two women and four men set out to answer this quesiton by seeing how fast they could run Los Angeles to Las Vegas. There was no precedence for achieving this feat. Only one person had made the walk before and could provide insight, but even they hitched the last stretch to Las Vegas.

• Total distance: ~340 miles
• Current record: 36 hrs. and 20 min, set by 4 men and 2 women
• All female record: 44 hrs. and 27 min.

District Triathlon, based out of Washington, DC, is a minority triathlon team asking for your help in breaking this record.

Together we will set out on this multi-day feat to push our bodies to the limits, both physically and mentally. Our team is seeking support from family, friends, friends-of-friends and future friends for the one-of-a-kind journey.

Funds raised will be used to assist in registration fees, runner supplies, RV rental, travel expenses, food, and lodging. Any and all support is greatly appreciated. Any unused funds will be donated back to District Triathlon a 501(c)(3) charitable organization, in addition to the money we will earn with each mile we run using the Charity Miles App along the course of the relay.

Our team will be comprised of 2 women and 6 men, strategically chosen for this event.

Team:

Faren Campbell (District Triathlon), Lloyd Henry (OnPoint Fitness),  Gaftie Marlow (District Triathlon), Forrest Wrenn(DRC), Carlton Fairley (District Triathlon), Eddie Harrell (District Triathlon) Allison Lee (District Triathlon), Marcus Fitts (District Triathlon)
