Disneyland Fundraiser for Troy

Troy is a 13 year old boy who has for several years been battling ITP (immune thrombocytopenia),  similar to childhood cancers. I came to know him through the Pediatric Oncology hospital in Medford, Oregon, where I intern for his doctor. Troy is always cooperative and kind regardless of his circumstances. He is a very courageous and deserving young man, and would love the opportunity to visit Disneyland to rest and enjoy a little time with his mother.

My name is Caitlin Diefendorf and I am an Honors College Student at Southern Oregon University. This initiative I am undertaking is what we call "Take the Lead" projects. It is a program through the Honors College providing students opportunities to develop leadership skills. As part of my project, I am organizing a fundraiser to help Troy and his mom cover the expenses for this trip.  This trip would offer Troy the opportunity to overcome the challenges he is facing on a daily basis, even if only for a few days. If for any reason Troy is unable to complete the trip, the money raised will help pay his extensive medical expenses.
