Will, a disabled Iraqi Cav Scout Vet, was stricken Oct. 22. with viral encephalitis and suffered 2 debilitating seizures. He ran a high fever for 8 days. Previously, Will suffered a traumatic brain injury (TBI) in 2011 near Baghdad when a mortar round rolled the Conex he was living in where he was thrown and left unconscious for an undetermined amount of time. The VA has yet to acknowledge that injury, but he is was diagnosed with PTSD and is considered 80% disabled. Despite all that, Will was working full time and going to school when he was stricken with viral encephalitis. Will spent 8 days in the medical ICU and is currently in an acute rehabilitation hospital. He has a long road to recovery with speech and occupational therapy. He is, by state law, not allowed to drive for 6 months and can not return to work until he is mostly recovered. Because of these circumstances, Will can not afford his apartment anymore. The contract states he owes $4,200 to get out of the contract by Jan. 4, 2020. If he does not pay up he will be taken to court and his credit rating will tank He would be prevented in the future from getting a new place. Is this any way to treat a disabled vet? Will needs your help now so he can concentrate on recovery. Any contribution you can make will be greatly appreciated. Thanks!
