Completely Destroyed -- SSD Fail

Friday the 13th, December 13th, 2013:  My vehicle ran head-on into a Land cruiser (police report states unknown).  I had a Honda Accord.    The other couple had minor injuries and their SUV was totalled (bent frame).  My car was unrecognizably totalled(see pics).  My injuries were(are) not minor.  My head slammed into the steering wheel, breaking my neck (Hangman's Fracture), shattering my jaw with traumatic brain injury.  The engine came onto my lap, shattering my ribs, destroying my left knee, and severing my index finger's tendon.
I woke up a month and half later in Legacy Emmanuel hospital.  I opened my eyes to my dad.  Sorry this is difficult to write.  I was told by every medical professional that I would be disabled for at least 12 months.  This is the fundamental requirement for receiving social security disability.  I even have a disability placard that expires in 2021? I was lucky to not be dead or quadriplegic.  It just doesn't feel lucky when our system fails. Even though I've been disabled  longer, I only need the 12 months that my SSD statement promised.  This is why I look to you. Thank you for being you. Wishing you well!
