Dilley's Burial & Final Expenses

Donation protected
My name is Katelyn Dilley. My brother, Scotty Dilley, & I are asking for your help. I have too much pride when it comes to asking for money, but when doctors say that my father doesn't have that much time to live and I don't have the kind of money that's required to take care of his medical expenses or to even give him a proper burial when the time comes, holding onto my pride would be anything but wise. The thought that we won't have our father to give me away on my wedding day or to see his future grandchildren be born, brings me to tears. But I am still trusting in God for a miracle.

Our father, Kenneth Scott Dilley, has been incarcerated for non-violent drug offenses  since 2004. He has served 13 years of his 25-year sentence. In recent months, my father’s health has declined rapidly. Due to debilitating back pain, he was unable to even move from his bunk to get medicine. Eventually, the staff realized he needed serious medical attention and he was transported to a hospital where it was discovered he has spinal canal stenosis and he was diagnosed with widespread metastatic adenocarcinoma. The cancer has spread from his esophagus into the liver, lungs, lymphatic system, and spine. At this time, his is being given palliative care to keep him comfortable. My father may not have much longer with us and we are desperate to be with him.

He has started the process of compassionate release. It is a reduction in sentence that allows him to be home with his family and friends while on probation. Compassionate release may take a long time or, in many cases, never granted at all. If or when compassionate release is granted, our family is preparing and will take on all medical responsibilities. He will be on an individual insurance plan until state assisted insurance  is implemented.

My dad is a beautiful person with a good heart and the gift to make you smile whenever you are sad. He is the sunshine on rainy day. He has served, in my opinion, his fair share of time behind bars for his past mistakes. He is loved by so many people near and far. We are very grateful for all his friends and extended family that have come forward during this difficult time to offer support and prayers for my Daddy.

His health has deteriorated so quickly and our family was not prepared for this at all. As painful as it is to say, the end is approaching and we would like to be proactive in preparing for what is to come in the days ahead. Planning for the end game is hard enough, doing it while taking on the added burden of worrying about finances makes it that much harder. Anything you can give to help us prepare his final resting place is appreciated! If you are unable to help financially, we ask that you please continue to pray for his healing and share this campaign.
