Diane Vigilanti's (Bacolo) Cancer Fight!

Donation protected
In Mid-December I performed a breast exam while showering. An exam we are encouraged to do regularly. On this day, I felt a small lump. It concerned me and shared my findings with my husband. I am 35 and do not have breast cancer in my family history. I thought it was potentially a fibroid. He still encouraged me to undergo further testing.

On January 17 I had a core biopsy and only a few days later I received the call. Never could I have imagined hearing those words, “you have been diagnosed with breast cancer”.  Further testing concluded the cancer had spread to my lymph nodes.

On February 27 I take the first step in my battle against cancer. I will undergo a double Mastectomy with further treatment to be determined once they deem the surgery successful.

I am a stay at home mother of two young children. My husband is the sole breadwinner. As I spend time recovering, I will need extra assistance with my children and allow my husband to continue working. To offset the cost of childcare and medical bills, I was encouraged by friends and family to put together this go fund me.

I am so grateful of the support I have received thus far. Please know any donation that is received will be put to good use. Just knowing my children will be able to go about their day with some normalcy gives me peace of mind. I want to get well for my children. I will beat this!

My only hope is that sharing my story with you will encourage others to get an exam. Had I not felt that lump, this story could be written very differently.
