Diana's Medical Missions Trip

Hello!
I am excited to share this letter with you! As many of you know, I’m in my first year of optometry school in Chicago at the Illinois College of Optometry. Since undergrad, God has placed on my heart a desire to use my optometry knowledge and skills to show compassion to the least, the lost, and the last. It is my prayer that Christ would use me to share about His faithful and perfect love for His people in this world.
From February 20 - 27, our team of 20 optometrists and optometry students will travel to Chiquimula, Guatemala for a medical mission trip through the Fellowship of Christian Optometrists (FCO) at the Chiquimula Eye Center. At the clinic, we will treat a variety of eye diseases, learn from the medical staff there, and pray for the patients.
The purpose of FCO is to establish optometric mission work which combines eye care and the furtherance of the Gospel, both in the workplace and on mission fields around the world. Our vision is to further the Gospel through our service by caring not only for the physical needs but also the spiritual needs of all the Guatemalan patients we meet. We are praying that God will use us to show the love of God to the patients as we care for them.
As I prepare for the missions trip, I invite you to prayerfully consider partnering with me through your prayer and financial support as I need to raise $1,000 by February 20th to cover travel expenses and supplies. It is my great hope that Christ’s name will be glorified through our serving together.
