Dialysis/Kidney Transplant Costs

Hi all – first of all, thanks for being here.
On October 3, 2018 we got news that my father’s ONLY kidney is functioning at 13% and needs to undergo dialysis and/or kidney transplant. He is now in the 5th kidney disease stage (end stage). On 1983 my father lost one of his kidneys at the age of 22.
My name is Mariela Hernandez and I am one of four Edrulfo Hernandez’s daughters. Doctors will not start his procedures until he has health insurance due to the extremely high medical bills that would be sent. He is currently in the process of getting health insurance to cover some of the medical bills that are forthcoming. However, his need to be absent of work for his appointments and/or potential need to completely stop working is an obstacle we are facing. He is the main source of income in the household and our family is not able to cover the high expenses that the insurance does not cover. We hope that you walk alongside this journey by keeping us in your prayers and if all you can do is share this, PLEASE do.
P.S. Remember that there is NO such thing as a “too small of a donation” – every dollar is one more dollar and we will gladly accept it.

El 3 de octubre de 2018 recibimos la noticia de que el ÚNICO riñón de mi padre funciona a un 13% y debe someterse a diálisis y/o trasplante de riñón. Él esta ahora en la quinta etapa de enfermedad renal (etapa final). En 1983 mi padre perdió uno de sus riñones a la edad de 22 años.
Me llamo Mariela Hernández y soy una de las cuatro hijas de Edrulfo Hernández. Los médicos no iniciarán sus procedimientos hasta que tenga seguro médico debido a las facturas médicas extremadamente altas que se enviarían. Actualmente se encuentra en el proceso de obtener un seguro de salud para cubrir algunas de las facturas médicas que están por llegar. Sin embargo, su necesidad de estar ausente del trabajo para sus citas y/o la necesidad potencial de dejar de trabajar por completo es un obstáculo al que nos enfrentamos. Él es la principal fuente de ingresos en el hogar y nuestra familia no puede cubrir los altos gastos que el seguro no cubre. Esperamos que camine a lo largo de este viaje manteniéndonos en sus oraciones y si todo lo que puede hacer es compartir esto, POR FAVOR, hágalo.
NOTA: Recuerde que NO existe tal cosa como una “donación demasiado pequeña” - cada dólar es un dólar más y lo aceptaremos con gusto.
