Desiree Bouchard - Kidney Donation

Desiree started Hemo Dialysis in March 2017 and is currently looking for a Type 0 kidney donor.  Her mom had been in testing for 9 months before being kicked out as a donor - her right kidney was too small to support either of them with only one kidney.  Mom wanted to donate any way even if it meant she was going to be on dialysis herself, by the Manitoba Renal Kidney Program would not allow this.

We are now in the process of training to do Home Hemo Dialysis 6 to 7 days per week.  Mom is now the Primary Care giver and has had to leave her full time position as General Manager of a property management company to take care of her daughter full time.

This means we are in need of additional funds to cover the cost of supplies, financial support for Desiree, the kidney donation, home renovations for home hemo dialysis - the list is endless.

There is no finanical support availabe through any other programs here in Manitoba and this family will need your prayers as well as they struggle through this medical situation.

If you are interested in becoming a donor (no matter what your blood type is), please call the Manitoba Kidney Donation program at (204) [phone redacted] to register.  They do have a cross-match program which allows you to give your kidney to another match and then Desiree would receive an 0 kidney - it's new and allows for quicker transplants. 
Otherwise, Desiree will have to wait 9 - 11 years for a deceased donor to become available.
