This GoFund Me account is to raise money for the headstone of Dericka Lindsay, a nine year old little gir, who died on October 14, 2017 when her 325 lbs cousin sat on her as a form of discipline. Veronica Posey has been charged in the case alone with her adoptive parents Grace and James Smith. Reports show that Escambia County Sheriff's Office had been called out
to their home on numerouse occasions before her death.
The home life that this little girl and her sister dealt with is unimaginable to most of us. Even so, she put on a bright smile and was a super affectionate child who just lit up a room when she entered. You could not walk past her without receiveing a hug from her and we miss that.
If you were lucky enough to know Dericka Lindsay you knew she never met a stranger and loved big. If you did not know Dericka, just now that she would have touched your heart in a big way. If you can, please help us raise money for this sweet girl's headstone so that when her friends, loved ones, and most of all, her little sister visit her, Dericka has more than a small stick to mark her grave. If you are in a position to contriubute any amount, it is greatly appreciated. No amount is too small. If you cannot contribute monetarily please keep her sister in your prayers. This, of course, is very hard for her.
If any money is left after the headstone has been purchased it will be put into a trust for her little sister to
access when she turns 18.
