2019 UIAA Ice Climbing World Cup Expenses

Donation protected
It's Been 4 years since Matt started his transition into a healthy and active lifestyle. This pursuit has lead to new heights and even higher goals. A new life dramatically different than his old; littered with Hospital Stays, Operations, and long periods of time requiring the use of his wheelchair.

Shortly after moving to canmore, he met Jyoti; who would become his mentor in the world of verticle Rock & Ice. It didn't take long for him to cut his teeth in the realm of Mixed Climbing. Ascending both Rock and Ice with the aid of metal Ice Tools. This lead to more indoor training, and a style of climbing called Drytooling.

Last season was Matt’s first season entering Mixed Climbing Competitions: competing in both Portland & Colorado. Now his eyes are set on the World Cup event held in Denver this coming Feb.

With help from the people standing in his corner, he is trying offset the exceptional cost associated in training as well as equipment that often is imported from other countries. Any help towards travel and accommodation would be of great relief. As all other fees and expenses fall on our athletes unfortunately as there is yet no funding for our sport.
