Denver Faith + Culture Meeting is a monthly gathering, ecumenical in scope, meant to gather Christians in conversation at the intersection of faith and culture. We are building out our programming for 2019 and cannot do it without help from our local and online community.
DF+CM is a gathering of people whose faith has been enlivened by the cultural world around us, which we believe God can use to draw us to Himself. During each meeting, we enjoy casual fellowship before spending time to discover ancient or recent cultural artifacts, with the ultimate aim of being led to deeper devotion and prayer through these gifts and one another. To better learn from those around us, we focus more meeting time on conversation than presentation. Programming starting September 2018 has not yet been publicized in full, but includes such topics as: poetry as the groaning of the spirit; certain films as both sacrifice and prayer; science as a creative process similar to literature; and grace and emptiness.
Our group consists of seniors and young families, Protestants and Catholics, the artful and the scientific. In our commitment to bringing these people together, we provide light refreshments and, more importantly, low-cost childcare. Because of the cost of babysitting, especially on a monthly basis, many couples who often are in great need of support are unable to enjoy fellowship like this. So, to enrich these couples and enrich our group with their voices, we provide childcare at a nominal suggested donation of $10 per family.
To cover childcare, refreshments, and website maintenance, we need a little over $2,000 each year - even taking into account projected donations paid by families for childcare. We would be so grateful if you would consider contributing to our group.
