Dennis' Fight

On the evening of February 6th, 2017 Dennis’ life was forever changed. Dennis had been feeling ill for several weeks, thinking it was a typical stomach virus he sought treatment at Martha Jefferson Emergency Room. Unfortunately, after several tests it was determined that Dennis was suffering from something far more serious. Within 24 hours everyone’s worst fears were confirmed when Dennis received a diagnosis of Pancreatic Cancer. Several long weeks ensued, and Dennis was ultimately transferred to UVA Medical Center.

Dennis is a veteran firefighter, a loyal friend, but above all a loving Husband and a model Father. With an easy going personality and a love to share his passion of firefighting Dennis is a natural mentor at the fire house. With years of experience, and an uncanny ability to teach it wouldn’t be a stretch to say that Dennis has saved countless lives.

In the face of this diagnosis Dennis has been nothing short of brave in his battle to overcome. So after selflessly serving so many, for so long, it’s our turn to help Dennis in his fight! With chemotherapy looming Dennis is still more worried about his wife than himself. The funds that are received from this campaign will allow Dennis and his family to focus on his health, and not worry about finances.  Sadly, the bills are quickly mounting as Dennis has spent the bulk of the previous 10 weeks in the hospital. Dennis is currently home, and doing everything in his power to gain some strength back before starting chemotherapy treatments in the coming days.
