Dementia & Cancer Awareness

Donation protected
I am going to be doing a series of events/challenges over the next few months in order to raise awareness of Dementia and Cancer. I am doing these in memory of my Grandad and Nan who sadly passed away too young.

I will be donating any money raised to the Adelaide ward at Royal Berkshire Hospital and also Frimley Health Charity.

All events are fully paid for by me. So every penny raised will be going to the charities.

July - I will be jumping out of a plane to do a skydive.

August - I will be completing Tough Mudder for the third time. Trust me this one leaves me in pain for weeks!!

October - I will be completing the Great South Run.

For the Great South Run I will be asking people for any messages they want to leave for loved ones which I will get put onto a T-Shirt and I will complete the race with peoples messages of remembrance or support. I’ll ask for this again nearer the time.

My Grandad Jack Prickett who was living with Alzheimer’s and was admitted to Adelaide Ward at the Royal Berkshire Hospital with terminal cancer which took hold extremely quickly and this is where he sadly passed away. The staff on the ward were extremely kind and caring. I would like to raise some money to donate to them so that they can help support other families who will be going through supporting a loved one at the end of their life. This might be by buying a piece of equipment or something people can have to make the last few days as peaceful and comfortable as possible.

My Nan, Jean Barker although not officially diagnosed with Dementia. There were signs that she had been living with dementia. Sadly she passed too soon before this could be investigated further. She passed of hypothermia after my dad found her in the back garden having been there overnight. The events leading up this we can’t explain or work out. She was treated with kindness by staff and donations were asked for Frimley Health Charity which provides life-changing equipment and services for sick and vulnerable people at Frimley Park Hospital.

Any donations are greatly received and they will all be going to supporting people and families who are going through the toughest of times.

if you have a message you would like send me for the t-shirt then please find me on Facebook or send me an email at [email redacted].uk
