Delilah’s Aunt Jacki and Uncle Brian ask you to help us in providing her with a helping hand down the road. We would like to setup a scholarship fund to help her achieve educational goals and provide whatever else she needs as she takes those first steps into adulthood. Like her Mom, we know that she will have big dreams, and with all our help, her future can be a bit easier in spite of this unthinkable tragedy.
Things this GoFundMe will be used for:
Undergraduate and Graduate School tuition
College Housing Expenses
Other Education Related Expenses e.g. books, technology, lab fees, etc.
Grief Counseling
Things this GoFundMe will NOT be used for:
Settling the affairs of her mother’s estate
Providing her with “wants” as opposed to “needs”
Frivolous expenditures that do not directly benefit Delilah in a lasting way
How will these funds be managed?
Depending on the amount of money raised, funds will be first placed into a 529 tax-advantaged college savings plan and any funds that exceed a reasonable level of college savings for her age will be placed into a custodial account. This custodial account can only be used to her benefit and is automatically transferred to her control at age 18.
An annual financial report on the 529 tax-advantaged college savings plan will be provided to Delilah, her immediate family, and all of her grandparents until the funds are depleted in the pursuit of lifelong advantages for Delilah.
