Decision Desk HQ 2017 Funding

This week marks an amazing year for us here at the Decision Desk HQ. On February 9, 2016 our team was live on the ground in New Hampshire for the First in the Nation primary. Not only were we reporting results but we conducted our own exit poll , which were closer to the final win percentage of both Bernie Sanders and Donald Trump than the networks' exits.
We spent the rest of the year collecting and reporting results for every primary race in what turned out to be the most unpredictable and historic election cycle in history. We capped it off by partnering with Buzzfeed and Twitter on an election night webcast where we made history by being the first outlet to call the key Commonwealth of Pennsylvania and with it the Presidency for Donald Trump
Starting this year, we began tracking the Senate confirmations of Cabinet officials, before any other outlet got into that game. As Senators dance out statements, we've estimated floor vote counts for major nominees. We intend to continue to do this for the potentially contentious Supreme Court confirmation and key pieces of legislation,  providing a record of the voting habits of many Senators soon facing re-election.
Our success over the last year has demonstrated that this project is a viable and necessary one to provide an alternative and independent source of election night results and reporting. And now we’re expanding into daily news and analysis on our own website.
Like any new endeavor, we need resources and we’re asking you to help provide them via a GoFundMe campaign.
We’ve invested substantially in our vote collection system and will be unveiling a new website soon that will be your one stop shop for news and analysis on this and every cycle:  the policy,  state politics, candidates and key votes that shape our elections.
The Decision Desk HQ has some immediate financial needs to keep this project going in the short term and to enable us to, honestly, take a bit of a victory lap. We’ll be presenting a paper at Saint Anselm’s College symposium, “Broken: Barriers, Parties, and Conventional Wisdom in 2016”. A collaborative effort by Executive Director Brandon Finnigan and contributors Varad Mehta and Miles Coleman, it expands upon the pre-election work of all three regarding Pennsylvania to explore how Donald Trump speared the Republican's White Whale.

Any and all support you can provide will be gratefully appreciated.
