This week marks an amazing year for us here at the Decision Desk HQ. On February 9, 2016 our team was live on the ground in New Hampshire for the First in the Nation primary. Not only were we reporting results but we conducted our own exit poll , which were closer to the final win percentage of both Bernie Sanders and Donald Trump than the networks' exits.
We spent the rest of the year collecting and reporting results for every primary race in what turned out to be the most unpredictable and historic election cycle in history. We capped it off by partnering with Buzzfeed and Twitter on an election night webcast where we made history by being the first outlet to call the key Commonwealth of Pennsylvania and with it the Presidency for Donald Trump
Starting this year, we began tracking the Senate confirmations of Cabinet officials, before any other outlet got into that game. As Senators dance out statements, we've estimated floor vote counts for major nominees. We intend to continue to do this for the potentially contentious Supreme Court confirmation and key pieces of legislation,  providing a record of the voting habits of many Senators soon facing re-election.
Our success over the last year has demonstrated that this project is a viable and necessary one to provide an alternative and independent source of election night results and reporting. And now we’re expanding into daily news and analysis on our own website.
Like any new endeavor, we need resources and we’re asking you to help provide them via a GoFundMe campaign.
We’ve invested substantially in our vote collection system and will be unveiling a new website soon that will be your one stop shop for news and analysis on this and every cycle:  the policy,  state politics, candidates and key votes that shape our elections.
The Decision Desk HQ has some immediate financial needs to keep this project going in the short term and to enable us to, honestly, take a bit of a victory lap. We’ll be presenting a paper at Saint Anselm’s College symposium, “Broken: Barriers, Parties, and Conventional Wisdom in 2016”. A collaborative effort by Executive Director Brandon Finnigan and contributors Varad Mehta and Miles Coleman, it expands upon the pre-election work of all three regarding Pennsylvania to explore how Donald Trump speared the Republican's White Whale.

Any and all support you can provide will be gratefully appreciated.

We want to again thank everyone who contributed in February to get us through March and our Election Symposium appearance. The Desk will soon host a one-of-a-kind interactive of '16 results, and will be covering the April Congressional & Statewide contests, including Georgia 6, Kansas 4, California 34, and the Wisconsin DPI. We are seeking additional support to get us through April, and have doubled our initial fundraising goal to cover us through this period.
Thank you all again for your support of our work!

We are proud to announce that we have exceeded our $10,000 goal! We want to thank everyone who donated to the Decision Desk fundraiser. This allows us to continue our unique, independent coverage of election returns, key Senate votes, and everything in-between. Please be sure to check out our homepage next week as we roll out our bigger, better site. There's always more to come at the Desk, and we appreciate the support.

Wow, we are just $289 away from meeting our goal: in electoral vote terms, that's 3 less than President McKinley's haul in 1900, and 3 more than President Bush's in 2004

Wow, thanks to our supporters we are over a third of the way to our goal. This is one of the rare election-related process supported equally by right and left. We are very appreciative of the support. Here is just a snippet of the work we are able to pull together: Miles Coleman has spent over a month assembling town-level returns from the 2016 Presidential cycle across the Midwest. Almost finished, like our fundraiser!
Work like this is a collaborative effort

I'll triple my donation if you force Jeff to tweetstorm himself listening to every Billy Joel album from the 70s.
