On Monday, October 29, 2018, our beloved mother was taken from us by a drunk driver while out riding her bike.
The family is using this gofundme to help with funeral costs during this horrible accident and to get our dad Ernesto some assistance for the future.

Debra Louise DiBenedetto was born on February 1, 1955 in Narragansett, Rhode Island, to Ovila Oscar Stefano and Louise Elizabeth (McMillan) Stefano. Debra grew-up in New England, and enjoyed time spent at her grandparents house on the shore of Newport, Rhode Island.
Debra attended San Francisco State University where she received her teaching credential and a Masters in Special Education. She was an educator for over 25 years. She most recently taught second grade at Dixie Elementary School, but also taught Special Education, Kindergarten and Fourth Grade. Debra was an innovative educator who cared deeply about all her students. She was incredibly passionate about outdoor education.
Debra cherished her time with family and loved hosting family dinners and holiday parties. She was an incredible baker and loved to discover new recipes. Deb found peace in nature, she enjoyed camping, hiking, the ocean and spending time along her school creek. Debra was a spectacularly proud and joyous mother and grandmother. Her newest granddaughter, Mila, was the light of her life and the topic of most conversations.
She leaves her husband, Ernie DiBenedetto; son, Matthew; daughter Sarah and fiancé Michael; daughter Leslie and husband Jim, daughter Amy and son Thomas and wife Gayle; new granddaughter Mila, and grandchildren Trisha, Nicholas, Lindsey, Haley and Jelani; siblings Donna, Doreen, and Dwayne; Sea Sister Sue; California Brother Wayne and many nephews, nieces, cousins. She is predeceased by father Ovila Stefano; mother, Louise Vargas; aunt Audrey Rearick; sister-in-law Lynn Arle; and nephew Bobby Ford.
