On February 5th, 2019 my mother, Debby Brave, was diagnosed with Stage 1 breast cancer. It was discovered early, thankfully, through a series of examinations brought on by other unrelated, though serious, medical conditions.
My Mom is a hard worker, and always has been. My memories of growing up are full of her pulling double shifts, doing whatever it took to make sure my brothers and I never lacked for anything. We didn’t have much but it was always enough.
Being sick is a double edged sword, mounting medical bills on one side and loss of income from time away from work on the other.
My hope in starting this fundraiser is to give my Mom a little room to breath, pay off some of her hefty medical expenses or least a little stash to ease the hit of the upcoming time off work and in recovery.
My Mom would do anything for anyone. She loves people and cats and grandbabies. She’s a good person and I hope we can help her go through this with just a little less weight on her shoulders.
